Aberfeldy Project

Alba are to explore an area covering 322.4 square kilometres east of Loch Tay, near the town of Aberfeldy, Scotland. The area is being targeted by Alba for mesothermal lode gold mineralization associated with arrays of quartz veins , a style of mineralization typical of the Dalradian of Scotland and Northern Ireland (Curraghinalt, Cavanacaw and Cononish ). Alba's technical management and consultants have extensive experience in this style of mineralization.

Previous exploration in the Dalradian of Scotland and Ireland indicates that, to date, this style of mineralization manifests itself as small, high-grade mineralization ranging from sub-economic gold occurrences up to small to medium-sized gold resources in the range between 250,000 - 500,000 ounces. The Aberfeldy prospect has, as demonstrated by previous explorers, considerable exploration potential specifically around the Calliacher and Urlar areas but also, throughout the extensive regional licence.

The Dalradian rocks in the area are essentially flat-lying alternating units of semi-pelite, pelite and psammites. Fourteen NW-trending gold-bearing veins were discovered by previous operators at Calliachar in the late 1980s. A second set of auriferous base-metal rich, quartz veins were located approximately 150m to the west at nearby Urlar, in four veins. Vein No.1 at Calliacher, returned ore grade intersections over a strike length of 87.5 m with widths of 0.5-2.0 m at an average grade of nearly 9 g/t (up to 150 g/t recorded). In the opinion of Alba's geologists previous operators left the area locally and regionally under-explored, with both sets of mineralized veins open to the north-west, south-east and at depth.

Alba’s technical management view the Calliacher vein swarm has having drill-ready exploration targets based primarily on previous work and that the project presents a clear opportunity to add significant value to the company with in the short-term. Alba intends to specifically target depth extensions of known veining at depth. In addition, further exploration will focus on unexplored strike extensions of the veins similarly testing their depth continuity, where they transect more competent units with the objective of realising greater mineralized widths. This has been a highly successful exploration strategy in recent work at the Curraghinalt deposit by the Tournigan Gold Corporation.

Other than the advanced drill ready targets at Calliacher, Alba have also identified several other gold occurrences and anomalous areas throughout the extensive licence area. Alba exploration strategy is to systematically explore the entire area, whilst focusing on zones of known bedrock gold mineralization.
